Black Abaddon (The Vulcan Legacies)
by Sasha Hibbs
Release Date: 02/20/14
Summary from Goodreads:
Ally Watson struggles to live with the choices she made, the worst of which resulted in her soul mate’s death. Michael’s sacrifice to save the girl he loved may have reversed the Apocalypse, but not the permanent damage inflicted by living with his loss.
Ally begins a journey where she soon discovers that death is not always the end, but sometimes the very beginning. With old friends, she journeys to the Nosferatu Nation where she meets with new alliances willing to help her in her quest to defeat the Devourer. At every turn, Ally unearths secrets that threaten to destroy those she loves.
The second installment of The Vulcan Legacies series will put Ally to the ultimate test, forcing her to face her fears and the true destiny she will fulfill as Azrael, the Seraph of Death.

Interview with Ally from BLACK ABADDON by Sasha Hibbs
Today we have an opportunity to get to know Ally, the female protagonist of Black Abaddon. She took some time out of her busy schedule of saving the world to answer a few questions for us. Please make her feel welcome!
Me: Hi Ally. Thanks for agreeing to the interview. So…It’s my understanding that you’ve recently lost someone close to you. How are you dealing?
Ally: What kind of question is that? (Shakes head) Sorry. Really. It’s me. Its just things have been really hard after Michael…. (Ally tears up and clears her throat.)
Me: I understand. It sounds like you’ve been through a lot.
Ally: That’s putting it mildly. Can you imagine the weight of the world on your shoulders? Your decisions being responsible for the impending apocalypse?
Me: Wow. No. I can honestly say I have no idea how that feels. What are you going to do?
Ally: I thought I knew. I thought revenge against the one who killed Michael would sustain me. But everything is so messed up now. Marik isn’t who I thought he was….
Me: Marik? As in Michael’s brother, Marik? (I can feel myself looking astounded.)
Me: I’m sorry. I don’t think I understand what you’re saying. You mean to tell me that Marik didn’t kill Michael? You’re Azrael, the Seraph of Death! How could you not hold him accountable for your soul-mates death? (I’m trying really hard not to let my voice rise because Marik is the epitome of evil. Trust me!)
Ally: I think you heard me perfectly clear. Things are…not as they seem. Believe me; I had to learn the hard way. I don’t know who to trust, where to turn… (She gives me an intense stare like she’s hiding something, something she’s unwilling to share.)
Me: Okay. So what’s next for you? Do you have a plan on preventing the annihilation of my kind? (I’m human and feeling very small in front of this powerful creature. I’m trying not to shake, but I’m afraid Ally is going to come unhinged any moment. Wait till I get back to my publisher. I’m going to give them an earful for making me interview the Seraph of Death!)
Ally: Plans? I’ve been making this up as I go. But I promise you this, the boy I loved will not have died in vain. I cannot avenge him because I have no further to look than to the mirror to see who was truly responsible for his death, but I will make his death meaningful. His sacrifice paid for my terrible mistakes. He bought the world another chance and paid for it with his life. I’m going to make it count.
Me: Well thanks, Ally. (I glance to my wristwatch nervously.) I wish you all the best and hope Michael’s sacrifice was enough to keep us all safe.
Ally: (She stands up and looks back at me over her shoulder.) On his grave, I vow, I’ll make sure the world is safe.
About the Author
By age 5, Sasha Hibbs’ favorite movie was Gone With the Wind. By age 12, she completed her 7th grade book report on the sequel, Scarlett. By 18, she met and married her very own Mr. Rhett Butler and as it turns out, she never had to worry about going back to Tara to win the love of her life back. Fortunately, he stuck with her.
With a love of all things paranormal, the ambiance of the South with its gigantic antebellum mansions and canopies of Spanish moss, and a love for her husband’s rich storytelling of blacksmiths and the mythology surrounding their origins, it wasn’t long until the world of her debut novel, Black Amaranth, was born.
When not working her day job as a nurse, you can find Sasha dreaming of her next beach trip, reading the latest YA novel, and drinking more white chocolate mocha than she should.
Sasha lives in mountainous West Virginia with her husband, Tim, and their two daughters, Aeliza and Ava. She is currently hard at work on book two in The Vulcan Legacies series.
