So what’s the game now? This, or the life I used to know?
When Miki Jones is pulled from her life, pulled through time and space into some kind of game—her carefully controlled life spirals into chaos. In the game, she and a team of other teens are sent on missions to eliminate the Drau, terrifying and beautiful alien creatures.
There are no practice runs, no training, and no way out. Miki has only the guidance of secretive but maddeningly attractive team leader Jackson Tate, who says the game isn’t really a game, that what Miki and her new teammates do now determines their survival, and the survival of every other person on this planet. She laughs. He doesn’t. And then the game takes a deadly and terrifying turn.
I have heard good thing about the books Eve Silver writes so I was excited to hear she was writing a Paranormal YA book. The premise sounded original and like something I would enjoy so I immediately added it to my TBR list. I was quite happy when I was able to start reading it.
By the time I had hit 31% I was very worried. I was feeling lost, confused and already hoping for the end of this book to come soon because it was going way to slow. I just could not connect with Miki or any of the other characters and it got to the point that I didn’t even care what happened to any of them.. The plot was just too confusing and it just seemed that the big reveal of what was really going on; well it just took too long to get there.
I wish I could say that I enjoyed this book but I didn’t. It did not hold my interest and I had to make myself finish reading it. There is a big cliffhanger at the end but for me it is not enough temptation to read the second book in this series.
