Review: Wolf with Benefits (Pride #8) by Shelly Laurenston
Published: March 26 2013
Ricky Lee has no plans of getting serious about anyone, but he will protect Toni Jean-Louis Parker. Not just because he’s been hired to do so, but because it’s the right thing to do. And if that means traveling around the country with one complicated She-jackal, dealing with chocolate-eating wild dogs, instigating trouble between his brothers, and having the most amazing sex he’s ever had…well, who said his job didn’t have perks?
Toni doesn’t know how she keeps getting herself into these situations. But even she has to admit there’s something about Ricky Lee Reed that she finds kind of interesting…and downright sexy. Now they just have to survive long enough to figure out if what they have is worth fighting for…
Shelly Laurenston, New York Times bestselling author and a star in the paranormal romance genre, comes the eighth book is the successful Pride series, that blends outrageous humor and sexy shapeshifters to create irresistible heroes that readers fall in love with.
I have been trying for days to write this review and I am at a loss. How in the world do I explain how wonderful this book is? Between the characters, the plot, the sarcasm and the humor… oh the humor… I just flat out enjoyed this book. Once I had it in my hands I just couldn’t put it down. So good!
Toni Parker is finally getting a career all her own. After managing her crazy, gifted family’s schooling and careers for all these years it is time for her to get her own life. She has been given the job of managing the travel and promotion for the best North American hockey team, a team made up of shifters. That is ok because she is a jackal.
Ricky Lee Reed is very patient. He knows if you wait long enough the best parts of life will happen right in front of you. So when he is hired to help protect Toni as she travels to Siberia. Even though he is not looking for anything permanent he does want Toni and will stick around to see what happens next with her….
Wolf with Benefits is #8 in the Pride series. Yes you can read it as a standalone but why would you? This is one of the funniest paranormal romance series that has to do with all kinds of animal shifters out there. If you are into those kinds of books then you should really be reading these!
