So what book am I looking forward to….

Scent of Magic (Healer, #2)

Scent of Magic (Healer #2) by Maria V. Snyder

Publish: December 18 2012

Preorder: Amazon

Read the First Chapter!

Hunted, Killed—Survived?

As the last Healer in the Fifteen Realms, Avry of Kazan is in a unique position: in the minds of her friends and foes alike, she no longer exists. Despite her need to prevent the megalomanical King Tohon from winning control of the Realms, Avry is also determined to find her sister and repair their estrangement. And she must do it alone, as Kerrick, her partner and sole confident, returns to Alga to summon his country into battle.

Though she should be in hiding, Avry will do whatever she can to support Tohon’s opponents. Including infiltrating a holy army, evading magic sniffers, teaching forest skills to soldiers and figuring out how to stop Tohon’s most horrible creations yet; an army of the walking dead—human and animal alike and nearly impossible to defeat.

War is coming and Avry is alone. Unless she figures out how to do the impossible … again.

I know it might sound funny that I cannot wait for this book to come out when I haven’t even read the first book in the series yet:

Touch of Power (Healer, #1)

Touch of Power by Maria V. Snyder

I do have it loaded onto my Kindle I just need to find some time to read it! I have read most of Ms. Snyder’s other books and they are some of my favorites. That’s why I know I am going to love this series as well!

So what book are you waiting for? Leave me a link and I will stop by for a visit!

I’ve seen Scent of Magic a few times lately. I haven’t read the first one either but this one does look interesting. Thanks for sharing! ^.^ If you would like to check out my Waiting On Wednesday you can do so here. 🙂

  2. starryeyedjen says:

I just recently got this galley. I loved Touch of Power and have loved everthing I’ve read of Snyder’s, which is everything but the Glass series. I planned to read SoM mid-November, but you’re making me want to push it up. Like, as in my next read. 😛 And did you hear that there’s going to be more of the Poison series?!? Sososo excited! 😀

  3. Bonnie says:

I read Touch of Power last year and thought it was pretty good. I hope you enjoy it when you finally get around to it! Thanks for stopping by. 🙂
    Happy Halloween!

  4. Jessica@a GREAT read says:

Awesome WoW choice!! I read this one already and LOVED it! I love everything Maria writes!!

This is up on Netgalley in case you didn’t know, that’s how I read it early!

And did you hear, there’s going to be more Study books!! Yay!

    Thanks for visiting my blog!

  5. Kristen says:

I can totally understand being chuffed for the second book without even reading the first. I have been known to collect multiple books in series before ever reading the first one because I am certain it is so right for me. 🙂

  6. Audrey says:

I do that all the time! Pick up the next books in a series without reading the first, lol. These are awesome picks. I’ll have to add them to my TBR pile. Happy Halloween! Thanks for stopping by my WoW post. 🙂

  7. LilyElement says:

I’ve been like that before, where book two makes me excited even though I haven’t read book 1. It sounds good, I’ll have to add it to my TBR.

Thanks for stopping by my blog <3

  8. Cyn says:

I haven’t heard of this series before (until today haha) but I’ve been meaning to read Synder’s the Poison Study series so I’m glad if I enjoy her works, there’s more series to read!
Thanks for visiting Book Munchies (:

  9. Maria @ Fantasy's Ink says:

I didn’t like Maria V. Snyder’s Inside Out or Glass series but her Study series is one of my all time favourites! I’m interested in trying this new series of hers, I just hope it’s as good as her Study series was.

  10. Jessirae says:

I have to read any of Synder’s books, but I really want to read her Study series. But I’ve got my eye on this one too! It sounds so good. I need to hurry up and get on this already! Awesome pick 🙂

Thanks for stopping by my WoW today!

  11. Joie @ Joie de Lire says:

YES. Yesyesyesyesyes!! I am SO excited for this book to come out! I’m really glad the publishers decided to release it this December instead of in 2013. I’ll probably be treating myself to a christmas present…. 😉
but OH MY GOODNESS you really need to read Touch of Power soon! It’s fantastic!

  12. Jessica says:

Sounds like a really great read! I haven’t read the first book either, but they both look really good! Thanks for stopping by my WoW 🙂

  13. Beczy says:

Maria V. Snyder is one of my favourite authors ever. I actually got to meet her last year. Scent of Magic is on my to read list, but Australia doesn’t get it until January, which really sucks.

Thanks for stopping by my WOW

  14. Annabelle says:

I haven’t read this series or heard of it before, but I like the premise and the covers. I’ll have to check it out for sure. Great choice!

    Thanks for stopping by! xx

  15. Micheline says:

I’ve seen Scent of Magic around as well…but it didn’t click that it was book two after Touch of Power (which I actually have on my reading list as well) This series looks really good, I’m anxious to get into it so I don’t blame you for being excited for book two 😉 Thanks for sharing & for stopping by my WoW as well!

I absolutely adore Maria V. Snyder. I love her YA and her adult stuff. And I am so excited for this book to come out too! The first one was so good. Thanks for sharing!

  17. Alysson @ Thought Casters says:

You know, I’ve been hearing about Maria V. Snyder’s awesomeness for a while now and have yet to read any of her novels. They all sound super interesting, so I don’t know why I haven’t jumped on the bandwagon! I think I might start with this series because the covers look great and I like the premise of healers. Thanks for sharing and for stopping by Thought Casters.
