A CAROLING WE GO

This is my front door where yes, last year, a small group came to my door and sang Christmas carols. Luckily, I still had some Christmas cookies to gift them.

11

For those of you who have never gone caroling, I highly recommend it. Though it’s probably not the tradition of many who live in cities, though I have been in apartment buildings where everyone gathered in a meeting room or a lobby to sing a few songs, but the real door-to-door caroling does still happen in small towns, subdivisions and energetic neighborhoods across our country.

In HOME FOR CHRISTMAS, the idea to carol comes from the children in the story, Titus Masterson, the six year-old son of our leading man, Adam Masterson. Titus, along with Timmy and Annie Bosworth coax Joy Boston, our leading lady, who is hoping to resurrect her grandfather’s long-shut down greenhouse the morning after Thanksgiving dinner. It’s Titus’ idea to turn the caroling party into an advertising campaign for Joy. With flyers in hand, all the guests (which are most of the characters from all the Shores of Indian Lake series) walk down both sides of Maple Boulevard, singing to their hearts’ content.

Titus goes from door to door, handing the homeowners flyers about the re-opening of the Boston Greenhouses. Though Joy has come back to town to bury her grandfather, Frank, sell the greenhouse and return to her life in New York, when she feels Adam’s arm around her during the caroling party, she remembers the love they shared as teenagers and wonders, for the first time in many years, why she ever left Indian Lake —and Adam.

You’ll have the crack the pages of the book to learn more!

Happy Caroling and Merry Christmas!

Catherine
