My Weekly Bible Journaling #23– 1st Samuel

This has been a crazy/ busy week. Let’s see…

– We ended up having 4 not three doctors appointments. Next week we only have one appointment. I am praying we don’t have anymore and that we have a quiet week.

– I thought I was only going to have 4 kids home this week since three of them were at camp but my oldest son came home to hang out with us. He came in around 1 in the morning and found a copperhead in our driveway. So he and my husband spent some early morning quality time together trying to find a quieter method to killing him than using a gun.

– LO has her days and nights mixed up. One night she didn’t go to bed until 4 in the morning. This Mama is tired.

-I started Plexus this week. I am praying it will help me lose weight and with nursing. And help me from being so tired.

Next week we are celebrating the 4th of July as well as my birthday. Then three of my crew head off to another camp. Maybe we will have a quiet week and we can get some of the house cleaned and ready for my sister’s visit in August.

Instead of napping this is what I worked on in my Beautiful Word Coloring Bible:

What an awesome verse! It is one that we should all keep close to our hearts.

There is no one holy like the Lord; there is no one besides you; there is no Rock like our God.
-1 Samuel 2:2

Each of my children have a Biblical first name. My oldest son’s name is Samuel. Whenever I read 1st and 2nd Samuel I think of him and pray for him. He has a lot of changes in his life these past couple of years. He has grown so much as well – emotionally and spiritually. We are so proud of the young man he is becoming and we pray for the man he is to be…

I prayed for this child, and the Lord has granted me what I asked of him. So now I give him to the Lord. For his whole life he will be given over to the Lord.” And he worshiped the Lord there. – 1 Samuel 1:27-28

I have always and will always think that the most amazing thing that could happen to a person is to have God speak aloud to you. I think at first it would freak me out and then I would be so shocked and awed that I wouldn’t be able to respond at all!

So Eli told Samuel, “Go and lie down, and if he calls you, say, ‘Speak, Lord, for your servant is listening.’” So Samuel went and lay down in his place. – 1 Samuel 3:9

I have a journaling Bible, but haven’t worked up the courage to write in it yet. I need lots of practice, so I’m doing that first. Maybe by the first of the new year, I’ll be ready to try it in my Bible.

Happy belated birthday! We were in the Kruger Park enjoying God’s amazing creation over the 4th of July. I didn’t even know what day it was until one of my family members figured it out. We were with my husband and his parents who are South Africans, so they don’t celebrate the day. My kids are both American and South African citizens.
        The Bible journaling is beautiful!
