3 Free Kindle Books (that I have!)
If you have a Kindle I am sure you are like me and love to check out the free books you can get. A friend of mine asked me to recommend a few of them to her and here are my top three for this week:
Unlike most kids, teenage Katie Parker never got a fair shot at a normal life. With a mother in jail and a missing-in-action dad, she’s never known what it’s like to truly be loved. Low on options and family members, she’s soon shipped off to a foster home. Now in an unfamiliar town, Katie’s rebellious attitude is at odds with her new family, school, and classmates. And after falling in with all the wrong people at school, things go from bad to really bad after she takes the blame for vandalizing the local performing arts theater.
But in the midst of a dark situation, Katie finds light in the most unexpected places: through her new friendship with an eccentric senior, the commitment of her foster family, and a tragic secret that changed them forever. And as she inches closer to acceptance and forgiveness, she finds that God has been there all along.
**I have not read this book but my teenage daughter has and she loved it. After she read it she asked for the whole series to read. She is not much of a reader so this book has to be good!
“Most superhero stories start with a meteor shower or a nasty insect bite, but mine actually starts with a kiss.”
In book one of the Jamie Baker series, popular teen romance author Kelly Oram creates an electrifying superhero origin story with a lovable twist.
An accident that should end in tragedy instead gives seventeen-year-old Jamie Baker a slew of uncontrollable superhuman abilities.
To keep her secret safe Jamie socially exiles herself, earning the title of Rocklin High’s resident ice queen. But during a supercharged encounter with star quarterback Ryan Miller she literally kisses anonymity goodbye. Now the annoyingly irresistible Ryan will stop at nothing to melt the heart of the ice queen and find out what makes her so special.
Unfortunately, Ryan is not the only person on to her secret. Will Jamie learn to contain her unstable powers before being discovered by the media or turned into a government lab rat?
More importantly, can she throw Ryan Miller off her trail before falling in love with him?
This action-packed, coming of age romance will have you laughing, crying, and falling in love, and will give you a new appreciation for superhero stories!
** I have read most of the books in this series and I have totally enjoyed them. In fact I have read a lot of the books that Ms. Oram has written and find them very entertaing!
Ariana can’t wait for life after high school…
Ariana is ready to finally graduate and get a new start at the University of Georgia. But she never expects to meet someone as perfect as Lucas at the beginning of senior year.
But she doesn’t realize how much she might be leaving behind.
Lucas is everything Ariana could have ever wanted in a guy, but he can’t be a part of Ariana’s new start, not when his family needs him at home.
Or that her dreams might be out of reach anyway…
To make matters worse, Ariana’s not sure she can afford to go to UGA herself.
Or if she’ll be able to get in.
Ariana will have to choose…
Because she knows she can’t have it all.
Ariana quickly realizes Lucas’s ex would love to see her gone, but she’s ready to fight for what they have.
But at what price?
Will she have to live with the regret of giving up on her dream school? Or will she sacrifice the guy that’s captured her heart?
** I actually haven’t read this one yet. In fact I just bought it (for free)! It sounds interesting and I hope my daughter and I enjoy it.
So have you picked up any free books lately that you love and would recommend? If so let me know about them in the comments! Thanks!
