My Sunday Edition #26

My Sunday Edition is a weekly update using the following Memes: Showcase Sundayhosted by Books, Biscuits & Tea, Sunday Post hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer & Stacking the Shelves host by Tynga’s Reviews.

I had decided earlier that for the month of December I won’t be buying any books for myself. It was a horrible idea because it is only December 1st and I already broke that vow. I went to the used bookstore to sell a few book and magazine I cleaned out of my shelves. While I was waiting I found some new books that I could use as gifts (woohoo!!) and then I made my mistake. I went to the clearance aisle. There I saw three books that I didn’t think I had read so I popped onto my Goodreads app and sure enough they were on my I Want To Read list. What was I supposed to do? Yes it is true I have several hundred books waiting for me at home and on my Kindle that are begging to be read. But for $1 each I just couldn’t leave them there…

Here is what I bought:

TrilbyHard To Handle (2-in-1)Man of the Hour (2-in-1)

Trilby, Hard To Handle and Man of the Hour by Diana Palmer

What I received for review:

Bet You'll Marry Me Big Sky River (Swoon-Worthy Cowboys #3) Alpha One Dark Wolf Rising (Bloodrunners, #4)

Bet You’ll Marry Me by Darlene Panzera, Big Sky River by Linda Lael Miller, Alpha One by Cynthia Eden and Dark Wolf Rising by Rhyannon Byrd

Shadowhunters and Downworlders: A Mortal Instruments Reader Enchanted Ever After (Mystic Circle, #3)

What I am reading right now:

  Scent of Magic (Healer, #2)

Scent of Magic (Healer #2) by Maria V. Snyder

These are the books I finished this past two week:

1. Dare to Believe (Gray Court #1) by Dana Marie Bell

2. Seducing the Wolf (Wulf’s Den #3) by Marisa Chenery

3. V is for Virgin by Kelly Oram – Review to be posted soon

4. Shadow (New Species #9) by Laurann Dohner

5. Fourth Grave Beneath My Feet by Darynda Jones

6. Snow Whyte and the Queen of Mayhem by Melissa Lemon – Review to be posted soon

7. Touch of Power (Healer #1) by Maria V. Snyder

So… what is going on this week?

The Christmas tree is up, the stockings are hung and my brand new Eiffel Tower of lights is put together. Now I need to finish buy gifts and address the cards. I feel bad but this is another Christmas I am unable to make my Christmas cards. The really good news is by the beginning of next year I will have a craft shed! Squeal!

This week I will be hosting a giveaway so be sure to stop by and enter to win!

I have read 292 books (78,620 pages) towards my goal of 325 books. I have already decided that next year I will not have my goal so high. This has been a bit stressful  trying to meet this goal.

That’s my update for this week. What did you receive or read this week? Leave me a link so I can drop by and check it out!

  1. Awesome books this week!! I hope you enjoy them all :)

  2. I don’t do cards at all, my RA makes it too painful to write out notes :( but I do send packages and make lots of phone calls. Glad you are on top of things. congrats on the craft cutter. I grabbed Big Sky River, even though I am completely booked and will need to do a double post . I love this series. Palmer is good, it’s been awhile since I picked up one of her books and look forward to your thoughts. The Sunday Post

  3. Love the cover for Enchanted, hope you enjoy.
    Happy reading,
    Brandi from Blkosiner’s Book Blog

  4. Oooo a craft shed! I would love a space to work on things…as of right now I just use any open space I can find like a table or most of the time the floor. I’m reading Scent of Magic now as well. I hope you enjoy your haul this week!

  5. I’ve been wondering about the Healer series. Nice haul. Happy reading…

  6. You are a CRAZY reader! And what is a craft shed? Is it literally a shed out back just for your crafting? That would be awesome!!!

And no, you shouldn’t EVER pass up used books or books super cheap, even under a book ban. You did not fail!!! Your expectations were just whacked!!
    :) Have a great week!!

    • Dani says:

LOL! Yes it is a large metal shed that has already been insulated. When it gets here we will get it wired and put some walls and carpet in it and I can finally unpack. :)

  7. Oh! You have some cracking books! And I love the sound of Alpha One, Dark One Rising and Immortal Ever After. They are right up my street!

I too haven’t made any Christmas for a few years, so sad! I love craft making! And *Squeal* a craft shed! Ok very jealous! I love scrapbooking, design and card making! :D

    Here’s My Showcase Sunday

  8. Wow! Cool Haul– and most ambitious goal!
    Happy Reading!
    Beth ;D

  9. Heidi says:

Yeah I can see that trying to read 325 books might be a little hard to meet. You would have to practically read a book a day and that won’t happen at my house with a two and four year old. I want to see the Eiffel Tower of lights!

  10. I hope you reach your reading goal, but even if you don’t 292, and counting, is still a pretty amazing number of reads. I also hope you enjoy your craft shed when it’s done. I saw Enchanted Ever After somewhere and I thought it has a pretty cover. and I’ve been meaning to start the Study series by M. Snyder, but haven’t gotten around to it. Is the Healer one good?

  11. Henrietta says:

Who could resist books when they’re at $1 each? ;) Hope you’ll have fun meeting your goal of reading 325 books by year end.

  12. The Inkies says:

Shadowhunters and Downworlders sounds interesting! I love The Mortal Instruments, so I will definitely have to add to my growing TBR list. Great haul, and thanks for stopping by! New follower!

  13. Jorie says:

Thanks for visiting Jorie’s Reads :) … I liked Linda Lael Miller’s vampire books. Also, I’ve had to avoid bookstores b/c my eyes are bigger than my wallet so to speak :).

    Have an awesome week!

  14. Nova Reylin says:

Wow! That is a very high goal to reach! You still did an amazing job! I hit my 150 for the year with rereads so I’m happy!

Love the cover for Shadowhunters and Downworlders!

  15. For a $1 each, you couldn’t possibly pass up those books. What a deal!

I am slowly working on my Christmas cards and I’ll start decorating this week. I wonder how many decorations and ornaments my cat will destroy this year? :D

  16. Ink and Page says:

OK, so I thought I was crazy saying I’d be able to read 100 books this year! I am so proud of myself going over that considerably – around 170 at last count, and I have about 10 books I want to finish by year-end. BUT 292??? I couldn’t even hope to read that many. Either that, or my family would be unhappy with me never making dinner or doing household chores. I think I already pushed it with the number I have done…

Congrats to you for that! I am super impressed.

  18. Wow, you’re such a reading machine! Almost 300 books?! I’m really amazed, really, really amazed.

I have my eyes on Scent of Magic. I have Poison Study from the same author and still haven’t got around reading it yet. *sigh*

  19. Diana Leigh says:

I’m lovin’ all the cowboys in your mailbox. ;-) Enjoy!

  20. yvonne473 says:

  23. Wow, you got a ton of good-looking books this week! Enchanted Ever After looks like I good one I may have to pick that one up. :) Happy Reading!
    My Showcase Sunday!

  24. WOW you had a busy reading week. Shadowhunters and Downworlders sounds amazing. I hope I get a chance to read it soon.

  25. Uh-oh, visiting the clearance section is ALWAYS a bad idea. :D :D But December is a terrible month for us book hoarders anyway – it’s almost impossible to resist the temptation before Christmas, if you ask me. You had such a busy week! I know I’m super late (I had quite a hectic few days again) but I hope you had a nice weekend!
