My Weekly Bible Journaling #57 – Proverbs 4 – 9

bible

This has been a week of sickness in our house. So far my second oldest son and I are the only ones who have not been ill (Praise the Lord!). I still have 3 that are getting over it so we are having a quiet Easter weekend at home. It feels weird not doing all the egg hunts and having the big meal on Easter. But our family will be together and will be remembering why we celebrate this Holiday.

In our house April is a busy month. This coming week my husband and I will celebrate our anniversary and then later this month 2 of our sons have their birthdays. Not to mention all the members of our extended family who also have their birthday this beautiful month! I am so thankful for my family and I can’t wait to show them that!

This is what I read and worked on this week in my Bible:

Kids are still sick! Please pray for us that everyone gets over this mess and no one else gets it. It hurts my heart when my babies are sick! ☹ Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it. – Proverbs 4:23 #biblejournaling #christiancoloring #christiancreative #biblejournalingcommunity #icolorinmybible #ipaintinmybible #illustratedfaith #documentedfaith #biblejournal #bibleart #journalingbible #watercolor #readyourbible #faithjournaling #proverbs #heart #sickkids

Been dealing with sick ones all day. It hurts my heart when my babies are sick! ☹

Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it. – Proverbs 4:23

Still taking things easy and slow at my house today. 5 kids are at various stages of the tummy flu. And now my sweet Hubby looks like he may have it. Please keep us in your prayers! Go to the ant, you sluggard; consider its ways and be wise! - Proverbs 6:6 #biblejournaling #christiancoloring #christiancreative #biblejournalingcommunity #icolorinmybible #ipaintinmybible #illustratedfaith #documentedfaith #biblejournal #bibleart #journalingbible #watercolor #readyourbible #faithjournaling #proverbs #watercoloring #ants #sickness

I can’t believe it is almost Easter! This year is flying by already. We are missing all the fun Easter activities we usually do but maybe that is a good thing. Maybe we need to pause and put on eyes on Him rather than the candy.

Go to the ant, you sluggard; consider its ways and be wise! – Proverbs 6:6

In between taking care of sick kids and a sick Hubby I am finding some time to read and reflect... Choose my instruction instead of silver, knowledge rather than choice gold, for wisdom is more precious than rubies, and nothing you desire can compare with her. - Proverbs 8:10-11 #biblejournaling #christiancoloring #christiancreative #biblejournalingcommunity #icolorinmybible #ipaintinmybible #illustratedfaith #documentedfaith #biblejournal #bibleart #journalingbible #watercolor #readyourbible #faithjournaling #proverbs #watercoloring #wisdom #butterflies #sickness

Looks like one of my kids may be over this nasty stomach bug! This sickness has taken over our life this week and I can’t wait for it to be out of our house for good! The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding. – Proverbs 9:10 #biblejournaling #christiancoloring #christiancreative #biblejournalingcommunity #icolorinmybible #ipaintinmybible #illustratedfaith #documentedfaith #biblejournal #bibleart #journalingbible #watercolor #readyourbible #faithjournaling #proverbs #watercoloring #wisdom #butterflies #sickness

    Dani,

Beautiful Bible journal art! I think my mother would enjoy doing this sort of thing and I’m going to get her Bible journal to unleash her creative side. Thanks for the inspiration and congrats on being featured at Inspire Me Monday! 😉

I hope your Mom is Blessed by your sweet gift! Would love to hear how the Lord is working in her life with Bible Journaling!

I will stop by for a visit! 🙂

Dani, I will find out if she enjoys the journaling process. The only thing is I wonder if Time will permit her to take full advantage of this gift because of her work schedule. I’m happy to report ASAP on her status.

Beautiful pages. My favorite is the one with the simple leaves and the little bugs. It seems so appropriate.
Thank you for joining The Really Crafty Link Party this week.

So sorry your family was so sick! We had a low key Easter this year as well. And while I really missed getting together with the whole family, it was a nice quiet Easter. And that was okay too! 🙂

All of your journaling is so pretty! I have just started to explore my art side, so I have not gotten into drawing in my Bible yet. I do have a Journal Bible that has some pictures that I can color without messing it up too much, lol.

    Stopping by from #TuneInTuesdays! 🙂

    Blessings,

I think maybe we needed to have a low key Easter. God really showed me that it is ok to celebrate Him in a different way. 🙂
The Bible I am using here ( https://amzn.to/2HjtXXa ) is a coloring Bible! It is my first coloring/ journaling Bible and I feel it has helped me grow in so many ways!

      • quiethomemaker says:

I have one kind of like that. It is the NLT Inspire Journal Bible with a pretty little bird and butterfly on the front.
Did you just start with colored pencils or did you work with some mixed mediums in that Bible? I would love to know all about how you got started!

        Blessings,

        Amy

        • Dani says:

I did start with colored pencils and Gamsol. I liked what I could do with that but I wanted more ways to add color. So then I did some research and found out about clear gesso and how to use it on my Bible pages. Once I tried that I was hooked. I started then using water color and now I am slowly using acrylic paint to my pages.

          • quiethomemaker says:

Wow! That is so awesome! I love you pages, you do an amazing job. I love how Bible Journaling like this lets us meditate on His word as we do it. It is so therapeutic as well. By the way, I chose your post for this weeks featured post. I love to help others to see that we all have the ability to be creative and wanted to showcase that again with your beautiful work! The post will come out Friday with our Live Life Well link up.

I bought one of the beginner books on your list, and it should be here Friday. I am really excited to dig a little deeper into this.

            Blessings,

            Amy

Thank you! I know that Bible Journaling has helped me with my relationship with God so much. I have read the Bible and prayed more this past year than I ever have before.

Thank you so much for showcasing me on your blog! That is such a sweet thing to do! I will be stopping by for a visit and I will mention it in my next Bible journaling post.

I hope you enjoy your new Bible Journaling books! I really like mine a lot! They do help give some lovely inspiration. 🙂

            Blessings to you this day!

How I enjoy reading your blog and seeing your Bible Journaling! I am not artistic in any way (stick figures are my talent), but I “journal” with needle and thread. One of your posts so inspired me, however, that I picked up a set of calligraphy markers to play with. Thank you for sharing your wonderful talent!

    • Dani says:

God gives us all such amazing and unique gifts! I wish I could quilt , that is truly a beautiful art!
So happy that you are trying to do some calligraphy. There are a lot of free resources on the internet that can help you with your writing!

  5. Jann Olson says:

    hugs,

It’s ROUGH when we’ve got sick ones in the home- especially children! Hoping you did not get it as well! Nothing worse than when mama is down for the count.
I love your bible journaling! SO beautiful. <3 Thanks for sharing.
I pray your Easter was a blessed one- despite the illness…
