My Weekly Bible Journaling #11

Thank you everyone for the prayers for my son. He had an appendectomy last Sunday afternoon and has been recovering all week. He still has some pain but seems to be more like himself everyday. He our second child to have this surgery. I never knew it could run in families before. Now we are praying we don’t have to go through this again!

While he rested in my room I continued working my way through my Beautiful Word Coloring Bible:

I started the week out with Numbers 14:18.  It had been a crazy weekend so I ended up using peaceful colors without even realizing it until I was finished. Simple, serene and a wonderful Bible verse to focus on made it perfect to begin the week with.

This one ended up being more fun to work on than I originally thought it would. I really enjoy water coloring in my Bible and I love how well the pages turn out. I finished up this page after a day of doctor appointment (for me), errands, lunch with my sweet Hubby and a long nap!

I hate snakes. Which is funny because we seem to have a few living on our land. So when I saw that this was the next page I needed to study/ color I will admit I almost skip the coloring part. But I persevered and here it is…

Here is this week’s entry for the #colorthecanvasbible #giveaways #TheMessageCanvas

I’m so glad your son is okay and the appendectomy is behind you!! Thanks for joining the #sundaythoughts link up : ) And my favorite illustration of yours this week is the one from Moses…gorgeous.

  2. Peabea says:

Praise Jesus that your son is doing okay. I would never have guessed either that could run in families. I’ve always thought appendicitis was so scary. They use to remove with each surgery, but when I had surgery when pregnant with my second child they said too risky. With another surgery years later, I was told they no longer do that.
Stay healthy and enjoy the warm Spring weather that is on the way. Thanks for stopping by my place. 🙂

His surgery was amazing! They cut three small holes (one in the belly button) to remove it. They sent him home after about 5 hours or so and just had him take OTC meds for pain. When my oldest son had his done he was in the hospital for several days!

  3. Lillian says:

I’d love to hear about your watercolor tecniques! It looks like there is no wrinkly paper after adding them to your bible page!

    Just beautiful!

    • Dani says:

I first lay down a layer of the clear gesso and let that dry. Then I watercolor and use my gel pens and let that dry. To flatten my page I use my craft dryer. It really helps! Then I close my Bible and lay another book on top of it for a few hours. That is it! Let me know if you have any other questions!

  4. Jennifer says:

I love Bible journaling, or any activity involving God’s Word that wll help me grow closer to Him and get me in His Word more. Visiting from Mix it up Monday link up

  5. Sabrina at Kids Crunch and Christ says:

  6. Erin says:

Dani, the coloring is beautiful! Especially glad to hear that your son is doing well. Many blessings on him as he continues to heal.

  7. leannelc says:

Wow those are gorgeous – I’m not arty at all – I just read my bible and underline anything that touches my heart. So glad your son is fine 🙂

  8. Dawn Boyer says:

Your art is so beautiful. I am a fond observer of the skill but not a brave partaker yet. My daughter is quite gifted in watercolor so I am excited to share your art with her and all the great tools here you used.

Thanks for sharing this with me at the #GraceMoments Link up!

  9. Debbie Kitterman says:

Paulette – so very glad to hear your son is home resting now and on the mend. I love your coloring pages and Bible journaling …. also the colored pencil case… hmm got me wondering if it would work for not just colored pencils, but my pens, and markers as well. I will have to contemplate this it a little more, because my storage system isn’t really working very well.
thanks for linking up with #TuneInThursday this week. Sorry for my delay in stopping by, it has been a busy week 🙂

    • Dani says:

That case will work for pens and thing markers. I am thinking about getting another one for my gel pens. I have so many and would love to put them in an order so it would be easier for me to find the right color/ shade I need! 🙂

    • Dani says:

I use watercolors, acrylics and gel pens to color and highlight the verses already drawn on the side. Sometimes I make my own by stamping or writing it out. 🙂
